Back in 2004 Local ramblers were campaigning to improve crossing points for walkers near the Air Balloon roundabout.
Ramblers in Gloucestershire support an A417 loop
Today it’s even worse trying to cross, so having examined the plans we’ve come out in support of a proposal for a new loop on the A417. We’re aware of the environmental issues of the road in this location. However in moving through traffic away from the edge of the escarpment and making crossing safer it should benefit walking in the area especially the long distance trails the Cotswold Way and Gloucestershire Way.

However these plans are likely to be at least 10 years in the making so we continue to press for improved crossings now.
