Weekend Walks

Join the Gloucestershire Walking Group group for a 8.2 mile moderate walk.

Meet at 9.45am for 10am start in the car parking by the bend in the A438 near Eastnor Castle.

Walk heading south from Eastnor Castle through woods and back lanes before picking up the Three Choirs Way on the southerly Malvern escarpment. Route continues through woods and fields before getting to the Hollybush carpark on the Malverns. From Hollybush following the main path up the hill and across to the Obelisk before returning downhill to the Eastnor estate and carpark.  Difficulty moderate, no big hills however we do go through the 'Landrover Experience' woods for 10 minutes so there may be mud and walking boots are essential. Bring picnic lunch.

Join the Tiger Bay Ramblers group for a 7.5 mile moderate walk.

Join us for walk along the River Wye to the village of Goodrich where we will visit the Castle for refreshments and fine views.  From the castle we walk through the village visiting the Church and passing grazing alpacas, before a short climb up Coppett hill which should provide fantastic views of the Herefordshire countryside and Welsh mountains in the distance.

We return to our walk starting point at YHA Wye Valley at Welsh Bicknor where the walk will end with more refreshments.

This walk is part of a TBR weekend away but has been scheduled to enable day-walkers to travel from Cardiff and elsewhere in time for the walk start.  Please note the walk leader will NOT be at the group's normal meeting point in Pontcanna, Cardiff.
